Alvin Jon Hallas Obituary

Alvin Jon Hallas of Northbrook, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 6 of Covid-19. Born January 8, 1952 in Columbus Ohio to Rose and Al Hallas, loving brother of Wynona (Dan Imfeld), Tamara Hallas (Frank Agnew) and Jarrett (Laurie) Hallas, beloved father of Louisa (kClare) McKellaston and Ian (Nomin Zolzaya) Hallas and devoted grandfather to Maeve McKellaston.  Jon was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Cynthia Johnston Hallas. 
 
Jon was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University where he was a member of the marching band. A talented musician and teacher, his main hobby was jazz piano. He worked as a land use planner and doing data compilation and analysis before his retirement in 2018. 
Jon was an incredibly kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed by his friends, family and church community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hunger Resource Network or to The Community Church of Wilmette. A memorial service will take place later in 2021.
 
 Jon was the brother to Wynona, WYHS 1973.

Jon was one of the nicest guys in our class.
That entire family was truly special. Very sorry for his family.
