Dana Stone - Class Of 1970

Dana Stone

Dana James Stone, 69, of Milton, Florida passed into the arms of Jesus on December 18, 2021, after a brief illness. Dana was born on July 18, 1952, in Charleston, West Virginia, to James and Nancy Stone. When Dana was a young child, the family moved to Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1970 graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School in Columbus. Dana graduated from Bob Jones University in May 1975. There he met the love of his life, Linda Diane Culpepper. The couple married on August 16, 1975, in Bagdad, Florida, where they eventually settled and had four children: Hannah, Daniel, David, and Deborah. Dana was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as music director for almost 40 years. One of Dana’s greatest joys was to share the gospel with those he met. At the time of his death, he was the manager of Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Milton, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, James Homer Stone, Jr.; his daughter, Hannah Stone; his brother-in-law, Doug Scott; and his father-in-law, Winston Culpepper. Dana is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Linda Stone; mother, Nancy Stone of Columbus, Ohio; three children, Daniel (Morgan) Stone of Milton, Florida, David (Bethel) Stone of Pensacola, Florida, and Deborah (Ramon) Lopez of Bagdad, Florida; brother, Michael (Patty) Stone of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Mary Stone of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Mackenna, Curran, Soren, and Aftyn Stone, Ivana and Aiden Stone, and Brianna and Alexa Lopez; mother-in-law, Katie Culpepper, of Bagdad, Florida; three sisters-in-law: Lisa (David) Turner, Leta (Giovonni) DeMarcus, and Linzy (Bert) Blalock and their families. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Faith Baptist Church [6423 Hamilton Bridge Road, Milton, Florida] at 2:00 PM with visitation at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, Florida. Pallbearers are David Stone, Ramon Lopez Fajardo, Bert Blalock, Chris Hively, Stephen Doss, Blaine Card, Jeff Johnson, and Matt Rowan. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Stone, David Turner, Giovonni DeMarcus, Ken Johnson, Jeff King, Dewey Mars, Slade Rickels, David Barnhill, and Kevin Atabey. Dana’s wish would be that all those who were touched by his life would accept the truth of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Linda Stone to offset expenses.
