CONGRATULATIONS to our 2019 WYHS Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees: 

BRUCE LOWE, 1972

Bruce Lowe is an accomplished music producer, performer, composer, arranger, sound designer & engineer for records, television, commercials & films. He is considered a master of the key elements in music & production. Bruce is the founder & owner of Cinema Show Music & he's known for his expertise in the art of synthesizer & computing programming.

Bruce won five Grammys for records produced with Andrae Crouch.  One of Bruce’s major early musical accomplishments was partnering with Stevie Wonder to invent analog sound translation into digital sound, creating an international level that is the primary method of recording music & sound today.

During his 40-year career, Bruce established professional partnerships & friendships with some of the world’s most-famous pop artists:  Steve Wonder, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Quincy Jones, Michael McDonald & Billy Preston.  Bruce also toured with Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson & Billy Preston as a producer, multi-instrument performer, sound designer & programmer.  

Bruce contributed his talents with composing/producing, arranging, sound design & pre-production expertise to these world-famous albums: Thriller, Bad, Off the Wall, Dangerous, History Past, Future & Present (Michael Jackson), Tug of War (Paul McCartney) & Hotter than July (Stevie Wonder’s first platinum album).

Film credits are: 1) The Secret Life of Plants - Stevie Wonder.  2) The Color Purple.  3) The Lion King - Bruce worked with Elton John, Tim Rice, Andrae Crouch & Hans Zimmer, which won several Academy Awards.  Bruce has been working for Warner Bros/Telepictures since 2008. Television music production credits include:  Ellen, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Drew, Erin Burnett, The Lopez Show, Extra, Crime Watch, TMZ, & many more.  

Bruce’s current passions include the “Music Has Healing Power Foundation”.  He is also involved with using sound waves (100K – 300K hertz) to fight cancer.  Southern California medical doctors, clinical studies & hospitals have been encouraged to see the success this therapy is providing to help obliterate cancer cells associated with pancreatic & other forms of cancer.

Bruce is married & has a son & daughter. MARTY BANNISTER, 1980

Marty is an exceptional broadcasting professional bringing extensive radio & television experience, including 35 years of Play-By-Play (PBP), anchoring, hosting, & reporting.  He is currently the television PBP Announcer for Ohio University's Men & Women's basketball games that are televised & streamed on ESPN3.  Marty is also the PBP announcer for statewide radio coverage of State Title games for boys & girls basketball games, football & baseball games.  Since 2016 Marty has been the PBP Announcer for Asland University Athletics.  He also hosts a weekly Podcast Show on EB Sports Network.  Topics include sports, pop culture, local news & entertainment.  

Marty's previous broadcasting experience include:  *PBP Announcer for Ohio State-IMG Sports Network which included OSU Women's basketball, baskeball & primary backup PBP OSU Mens' football & basketball games.  *Anchor/Reporter on WBNS AM/FM RadiOhio. *Ohio News Network News Bureaur Chief/Traffic Anchor.  *PBP Announcer for: Columbus Destoryers; Wright State's basketball, baseball & softball, & Bowling Green University football.  *Sports Director & PBP announcer for Wittenberg Tigers football for basketball & baseball as well as local Springfield/Dayton high schools.  

SPENCER SALYERS, 1983

Sgt. Spencer Salyers has worked in law enforcement for 27 years for the Whitehall Police Force.  He is an Experienced Police Sergeant with a demonstrated history of working in the public safety industry.  He is skilled in Crisis Management, Firearms Handling, Public Safety, & Emergency Management.

Spencer was the Whitehall City Schools Resource Officer from 2006 to 2016.  He has served on the Whitehall Police Force's Swat Team for 18 years & 20 years as a hostage negotiator.  Spencer is currently the Whitehall Police Force's Hostage Negotiation Supervisor.  Specncer is also the Founder & Executive Director of "Get Behind The Badge" program.  

Spencer's awards include:  2005 Officer of the Year Hometown Hero; 2 Medals of Valor, Distinguished Cross & Exceptional Service Award; 2007 Friend of Education Award.  He has an Associate's Degree from Hocking Technical Institute in Business Management.
