Kendall Lewis - Class Of 1966

Kendall H. Lewis (72) died February 27, 2021, after a brief illness.  Ken was born June 21, 1948, the son of Lionel C. Lewis and Inez M. (Kendall) Lewis in Kalamazoo, MI.  Ken loved music, playing guitar in a Chet Atkins style for his high school band The Argonnes.  He also loved ice skating and hockey, and was a diehard Sharks fan.  Ken grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he obtained BS and MS degrees in Electric Engineering in 1971.  He also received an MBA from the University of Michigan in 1976.  Ken was a member of the honorary societies Sigma Xi and Beta Kappa Sigma.  He worked for Columbia Gas and Electric in Ohio, Service Bureau Corporation in Michigan and San Francisco, and Signetics Corporation in Santa Clara before starting his own consulting business, Business Information Techniques, in California.  Ken lived for 35 years in San Francisco before returning to Kalamazoo in 2019, bringing many memories but leaving many friends behind. Ken’s parents, sister, Kathleen P. Lewis and brother, Stuart R. Lewis preceded him in death.  He is survived by his sisters Karen L. (Paul) Ainslie of Indianapolis and H. Gabrielle Lewis of Phoenix, AZ.  Also surviving is his beloved partner of 14 years, Christina Lin, who cared for him in his last weeks.
