Below is the death notice of Carole Nance Rosing, Class of 1969. Wife of Jim Rosing, Sister-In-Law of John, Class of 1976 and Robert, Class of 1977. Cousin of Dan, Class of 1962 and Tim, Class of 1964. Aunt of Matt, Class of 1994. Please keep the Rosing family in your prayers.
Carole Ann Nance Rosing, 75, passed away on September 3, 2026. Carole graduated from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1969 and The Ohio State University in the Spring of 1974. Her diploma was awarded from the School of Arts and Sciences with specific minors in journalism and photography.
Carole was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity. Before the organization allowed women into the Fraternity, she pledged as a Lil Sis. A number of years ago, Carole was elected to Brother status by the Alpha Phi Omega-Alpha Iota Chapter. It was a proud and long overdue moment for Carole. Service projects included organizing a Dance Marathon with proceeds going to Muscular Dystrophy and several campus wide Blood Drives for the American Red Cross.
Carole was an accomplished photographer with her images published in several concert programs for the English rock and roll band The Moody Blues as well as in a hard bound history of the band. She also was one of the Athletic Department’s game day photographers for the Baseball, Volleyball and Football teams.
Carole was an active member of Linworth United Methodist Church. Among the many committees available, she participated in the Ad Council, Hilltop Mission, Open Shelter Mission and the Semi-Annual Garage Sale.
A career administrator, Carole’s last position was the Accounts Payable Accountant for the Business Department- Athletics at The Ohio State University. Carole’s devotion to her last employer was demonstrated by following OSU (women’s and men’s) basketball, swimming, hockey and football. She was a huge supporter of OSU’s Women’s Volleyball team where she was Secretary and then VP of the Attack Pack Booster Club.
The sport closest to her heart was OSU Baseball where she was a Charter Member of the Buckeye Diamond Club. She was elected to Secretary and VP of Memberships and held that position for several years.
Beloved by many for her kindness and compassion, Carole had lifelong friendships with college and church groups, as well as those formed through the shared love of the music of English rock and roll band The Moody Blues. Attending 158 concerts (3 more than Jim) on 2 continents, in three countries and in at least 35 cities, she finally witnessed her Band elected to Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Carole and her husband, Jim Rosing, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in July. Carole is pre-deceased by her parents Ralph and Eleanor Nance. Carole was the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Raymond and Suzanne Rosing. She is survived by her husband, Jim; sister Diane Nance, WYHS 1972; brother-in-law Rod Bouc; niece Claire Lloyd; grandniece Ava Pulsinelli; Aunt Nancy McCabe and Nancy’s children Kelly and Patrice, and grandchildren Eleanor, Jessie and Addison; brother-in-law Rev. Paul Rosing; sister-in-law Margie Rosing; sister-in-law Mary Anne Decenzo and husband Christopher: brother-in-law John and wife Mimi Rosing; brother-in-law Robert and wife Marcia Rosing; 10 nieces and nephews and 25 grandnieces and grandnephews. Carole was a wonderful Aunt to all of the nieces and nephews. She loved them and continues to love them. And she knows that they love her.
A Prayer Service will be held at St Joan of Arc, 10700 Liberty Rd, Powell, OH 43065, US, on October 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A reception will follow the prayer service at the same location.
