Teresa "Terry" Ann Dean, 74, peacefully entered her final rest on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024 after being diagnosed with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer earlier in the year.
Terry was born December 10, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to Glenn and Norma Davis. She graduated from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1968 and married the love of her life, Richard Alan Dean, in 1969. They lived happily for 51 years until his passing in 2020.
Together they raised three children: David (Melissa) Dean, Robert Dean, and Amanda (Ed) Wolski. They dearly loved their three grandchildren: Cordell Price, Cameron Dean, and Iann Dean as well as their two great-grandchildren, Lillian Price and Wyatt Dean.
Terry lived a life of giving back to her community. She enjoyed volunteering at the Whitehall City Schools in any capacity but especially loved her time as a Band Mom at the high school. She was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, taught line dancing at local Senior Centers, delivered books to those who were homebound, and donated all she could to local charities.
She was a spirited person who enjoyed making memories with friends and family. Together they would play cards and games, work jigsaw puzzles, and square dance. One of her favorite pastimes was reading and sharing what she read with anyone who would listen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother Glenn Davis Jr. She is survived by her siblings Dianne (Ted) Davis-Fox, Patrick (Betty) Davis, Kathy Brookbank, and Brenda Davis as well as her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Evans Funeral Home 4171 E. Livingston Ave. in Columbus, Ohio on January 4, 2025. Open viewing is from 11am – 1pm with a Celebration of Life to follow from 1-2pm. In lieu of flowers, Terry asks that donations be made to the Whitehall Senior Center to help fund the activities and programs she cherished for many years.
