Darrell Hicks - Class Of 1967

Darrell Lee Hicks
September 13, 1949 - August 20, 2022

Darrell Hicks age 72, of Sherman, TX passed away in his sleep Saturday morning  August 20th after struggling with declining health issues. 

He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Alice and James Hicks where he grew up and graduated from Whitehall -Yearling High school in Whitehall, Ohio. He continued on to graduate with a business degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. 

Darrell worked for several years as a sales manager in the underground utilities industry which took him and his family to live in several locations around the United States including; Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, and finally retiring in Sherman, Texas in 2013.  

Many friends know him as a legend of the Red River Motorcycle Trails in Bulcher TX where he spent an abundance of time riding a dirt bike, guiding people around the park, and developing lifelong friendships. He also connected many friends and family members together that continue enjoying those lifelong friendships today. 

His love of music was also what he was known for. He loved to share his favorite tunes by combining some of his favorite songs on a CD for his friends. These are great gifts that keep on giving.

Oh, and he did drink a little, lol. He was quite a connoisseur of cheap beer including; Natural Light, Old Milwaukee, and PBR to name a few. 

Darrell was a man who was full of life, laughter, and opinions, and was surrounded by friends and family who loved him and will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie, and sons Damon Hicks (wife Christie), Derek Hicks (wife Lupe), stepdaughter Kimberly Reynolds (husband Sam Reynolds), and grandchildren Cole, Kyle, Hudson, Quincy, Lola, Emily, Carson, and host of relatives, and good friends.
