Jacquelyn L. Greenup, age 74, of Gahanna, died unexpectedly on July 10, 2026, at St. Ann’s Hospital. Her final act of kindness was to give the gift of life as an organ donor.
Born in Marion, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac W. and Helen J. Bishop, and by her brother, John Bishop, WYHS1970. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Douglas K. Greenup; son and daughter-in-law, Jess M. and Stacey Greenup, of Marietta; granddaughters, Adilynn, Molly, and Claire Greenup; siblings, Jeannette, WYHS1965, (Steve) Sanger, Orlando, FL; Jim, WYHS1969, (Helen) Bishop, Grove City; Joe, WYHS1973, (Sharon) Bishop, Whitehall; Jerry, WYHS1975, (Diana) Bishop, Gahanna; Jill, WYHS1977, (Gary) Littleton, London, OH; Jay Bishop,WYHS1981, Cincinnati; sister-in-law, Amy Bishop, Grove City; and many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Whitehall-Yearling class of 1970, Jacquelyn’s vibrant spirit was evident early on; she was a proud cheerleader during her high school years, a joy and energy she carried throughout her life. She later found great delight in watching Dancing with the Stars, often sharing her enthusiasm for the performances with those close to her.
She retired as a Commercial Lines Underwriter with CNA Insurance. Beyond her career, she loved reading and walking, and she was a familiar, friendly face who knew everyone—and all their pets—in the neighborhood. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family and was especially proud and full of love for her granddaughters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 East Johnstown Road, where family will receive friends following the service until 1:00 P.M.
