IN LOVING MEMORY of Sharon Elaine (Hutchinson) Ver Burg
Sharon Elaine (Hutchinson) Ver Burg, age 78, of Pickerington, Ohio transitioned from her life on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
Sharon was born July 18, 1946, in Sciotoville, Ohio. She asked for her Bible hours before peacefully passing away with her family by her side. She was one of four children born to the late Russell and Florence (VanHorn) Hutchinson.

She began her career in 1966 at Western Electric, two years after graduating from Whitehall-Yearling High School. During her 35 years of employment, she received many awards. Sharon retired from Alcatel-Lucent (formally Western Electric, AT&T Technologies, Lucent Technologies, Inc., and currently Nokia) in 2001.

Sharon had strong Christian faith and a heart for helping others. She donated to multiple charities over the years. She loved flowers, gardening and feeding the hummingbirds that visited her garden. Beginning at an early age, she was an avid reader. She took pride in collecting the Nancy Drew mystery books. Her collection of books from many literary genres was a source of amusement for the family.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carol Lewis and Aunica (Nicky) Bowens; niece Linda Neu-Wears; and nephews, Tim Bowens and Steve Neu. She is survived by her brother, Russell Hutchinson Jr.; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

For the past several months her care was entrusted to her cousin, Regina Hutchinson, and Mt. Carmel Hospice. Previously, her brother Russell managed her care for many years.
In respecting Sharon's wishes, no funeral services will be held; instead, the family will gather privately to celebrate her life. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts, the family is respectfully asking for donations towards interment costs.
