Janice Andrews Obituary
Janice Carol Davis Andrews, age 86, of Reynoldsburg passed away on July 8, 2026 at home. Born January 29, 1940 in Columbus to the late Norris and Florence Davis (Peoples). Jan graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1958. After high school she worked at Western Electric and in various secretarial positions. She was married to Bob Cobel in 1968 and together they had two sons, Chris and Chad. After they were born, she stayed home to raise her family and was active in various community organizations, including the First United Presbyterian Church of Reynoldsburg, where she served as a Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and the Children's Choir Director, and enjoyed assisting with Vacation Bible School during the summers.
She loved participating in, and planning the annual Reynoldsburg variety shows and helped to make floats for the annual Fourth of July parades. Jan liked to stay busy and plan events, parties, and banquets. Like many 1970s moms, she held in-home sales parties for Amway, Beeline Fashions, and Longaberger Baskets, where her and her friends would gather and socialize. She later went on to work at AEP and Mt. Carmel East Hospital.
Jan was a singer from a young age and sang with Church groups, for weddings, and other events. She married Bill Andrews in 1990 who had a side DJ business where he would spin records and she would sing. They were the entertainment for the annual New Years Eve party in the Officer's Club at the Army Depot in Whitehall, Ohio for many years, and also for the St. Pius Church New Years party in Reynoldsburg. She and Bill bought farm property in Carrolton, Ohio, and enjoyed planting trees and hosting an annual Halloween party. Jan and Bill were married for 34 years until his passing in 2023.
She retired in 1995, and later in life she cared for many close relatives at the end of their lives. She was an avid golfer and she treasured her ladies golf league and attending the annual golf banquets. She was also a Red Hatter, allowing her another reason to plan events, trips, and throw parties. Jan was always laughing and the life of the party.
