Jeffery McCullough

August 19, 1953 - August 7, 2022

Jeffery Steven McCullough, 68, of Lancaster formerly of Reynoldsburg passed away on August 7, 2022 at his home in Lancaster Ohio. Born August 19, 1953 in Akron, Ohio he was the son of the late James Kenneth and Barbara Ann (Phillips) McCullough.

A lifelong resident of the Columbus area, Jeff was a 1971 graduate of the Whitehall Yearling High School and was a drummer in the marching band. He attended The Ohio State University, and was employed over 30 years as an insurance underwriter at Grange Mutual Insurance Company. He was the proud father of his two children from his first marriage (Linda Rader). In 1997 Jeff married Donna Rae Kellogg and together they enjoyed 25 years of marriage before her passing. Many of their happiest days were spent together with family at their cottage on Tappan Lake.

Jeff is survived by his children Mollie McCullough, Columbus and Todd (Shannon) McCullough, Lancaster; his step-children Kevin (Tamra) Kellogg, Baltimore, Bryan (Chris) Kellogg, Stoutsville, and Darin (Lisa) Kellogg, Christiansburg, VA; his grandchildren Stephanie McCullough, Evan McCullough, Kyle (Allison) Kellogg and Kendel (Jordan) Blake, Bailey and Renee Kellogg, and Nathan Kellogg; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Walker Kellogg. He is survived by his sister Daurice (Hans) Grossniklaus, Atlanta and brother, Kenneth McCullough, Whitehall. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, his parents James and Barbara, and his brother, William McCullough.

Jeff will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was deeply devoted to his wife, Donna, as she bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease for the last six years of her life. He stood by her side throughout her struggle helping and supporting her as she gradually lost her memory. After her death he visited her grave each evening where he enjoyed watching the sunset over Lancaster with her. During these challenging years he also juggled responsibilities to aging parents and supported his son and daughter as they worked and raised children. Jeff had a kind and sensitive soul, a gentle nature, and a strong faith.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12 at Sheridan Funeral Home, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Kellogg officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the National Kidney Foundation, Donate Life Ohio, or Alzheimer’s Association.
