In Loving Memory... Thomas Allen Rains, December 11, 1952 ~ November 04, 2017
A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas Allen Rains, Sr., age 64, of Kirkersville, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Kirkersville Home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Tom was born December 11, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home. Tom was a graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School. He was currently a COTA Bus Driver for the past eight years and had formerly been employed with Pepsi Cola. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, boxing and softball and was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by a son, Tommy Rains of Kirkersville; mother, Lillian Rains; four grandchildren, Autumn Rains, Summer (Tyler) Griffith, Torie Rains and Madison Rains; great-grandchildren, Lily, Bailee and Brayden; sisters, Nancy (Keith) Otto of Tennessee and Diane (Mark) Seckel of North Carolina; brothers, Geno (Sandy) Rains and Paul (Regina) Rains, all of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Melissa Beamer; brother-in-law, Gary Sansbury; nieces and nephews; best friend, Mary Patterson of Granville; and many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Rains; by a son, Billy Rains, on July 6, 2012; and by two sisters, including Linda Sansbury.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association.
