Paul Tuhy - Class Of 1972

Paul Ivan Tuhy 42374248

Paul Ivan Tuhy passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather who will be remembered for his deep integrity, quiet strength, and irreverent sense of humor.

Paul began his career in public service with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, where he served with honor and distinction. He later transitioned into the private sector, becoming a well-respected executive in the insurance industry. A survivor of 9/11, Paul exemplified resilience, courage, and grace under pressure.

Paul’s life was filled with a rich variety of interests from traveling the world, piloting airplanes, sailing, playing multiple musical instruments, watching Hallmark movies and handcrafting bamboo fly rods, some of his most prized possessions. He also embraced modern hobbies like scrolling through Instagram, where he shared his life and humor with others and relentlessly trolled his children.

Above all, Paul was an incredibly intelligent, curious, and creative man whose warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit will be missed beyond measure.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Terri; his children, Kevin Tuhy, Kelly Cahill, Ryan (Justine) Tuhy, Adam (Andrea) Tuhy, and Alex (Meghan) Tuhy; and his grandchildren, Cole, Anne, Maddison, Elle, Morgan, and Owen.

A memorial service will be held for Paul on Saturday, August 2nd at 11:00am in Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 633 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul’s memory would be greatly appreciated to the Reverend Stephen Tuhy Scholarship Fund at Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 633 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705
