Sylvia died of a pulmonary embolism on November 1,1994 at the age of 49, in Atlanta, Georgia.  She is survived by her husband Robert McKenna, daughter Michelle McKenna Wenzel and son Matt McKenna.  Her sister, Becky Orr Heimlich, class of 1969, shared, "Sis was a loving and beautiful woman who had a strong faith which she shared with anyone she touched in the world."
