Paul Fjelsted - Class Of 1965

GARNER, NC – Paul Michael Fjelsted, 68, passed away suddenly Sunday with wife Jan Fjelsted, children Todd Fjelsted and Amy Potter, and son-in-law and grandson Philip and Logan Potter at his side. He will be missed by countless family and friends, both near and far. Paul was loved dearly by everyone who knew him, without exception. He was known for his kindness and generosity of spirit, his unique sense of humor and his youthfulness and love of the outdoors. He was an accomplished fisherman and hunter, an avid golfer, and had a long successful career in computer programming and consulting, as well as real estate later in life. Paul was also known for his unwavering faith, and for living his life meaningfully. He didnt just talk the talk, he walked the walk. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son, he was an inspiration, a mentor, and a lifelong friend. Paul is also survived by his mother Iva Fjelsted; brother, Sid Fjelsted; mother in law Shirley Ennis; five grandsons, Austin, Noah, Jacob, Jayce and Bryce, (who knew and loved him as “Poppy”), his step-daughters Carmen Denton (Billy), Heather Benson, Shannon Dickerson (Roger).
He is preceded in death by his father Claire Fjelsted; two sisters, Kathleen and Pamela and first wife Susan.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11: 00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Clayton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
