Kathryn Klara Whiteman, of Whitehall, Ohio died January 13, 2021 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. Kathy was born August 28, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to Marguerite Martha (Schober) Whiteman and John Donald Whiteman. She graduated from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1974. Immediately entering a career in office work, she was a bookkeeper. Kathy spoke fondly of colleagues at Galbreath Company and NAI Ohio Equities. She enjoyed cross stitching, league bowling, and gifting friends and family with her homemade fudge or salsa made from ingredients grown in her back yard garden. Kathy and her mother lived a short walk from her aunt and grandparents. They embraced all of life's daily joys, opportunities, and challenges as one. Kathy was active in the Lions Club for many years, serving several terms as an officer in the Whitehall Area Lions Club. Her service there was recognized with the Melvin Jones Fellowship award. She was proud of the charitable work and treasured her Lion friends, including Carol Stuller, Karen Risen, and the late Pauline Rogers. Kathy took comfort from the support of the Scleroderma Foundation Central OH / Greater Columbus Support Group who helped her learn how to live with scleroderma. She was predeceased by her father John; grandparents Clara and William Schober, Anna Kathryn and Donald Whiteman; great uncle Wade Whiteman; aunts and uncles William (Mary Elizabeth) Schober and Eileen (Willard) Fitzpatrick.
