Richard Tisdale - Class Of 1958

Richard Tisdale, who just celebrated his 84th birthday and was a loving husband of sixty years to Beverly passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tisdale; sons, Jerry Tisdale and Jim Rico; daughters, Kari Tisdale, Becky (Matthew) Batka, Brenda (Glenn) Tisdale, Jill (Ken) Tisdale, Judy (Donald) Tisdale, Debbie (Larry) Hackenberg; 26 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; dear family friends, Todd and Lynn Ford; sisters-in-law, Laurie (Larry) Tisdale, Terry (Bethel) Turk, Michelle (Jim) Williams; brother-in-law, Steven (Colleen) Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Richard is preceded in death by parents, Dennis and Mabel Tisdale; sister, Betty Daubenmire; and brothers, Jack, Jerry, Dewey, and Larry Tisdale; grandchildren, Haley Knadler, and DJ Knadler; and great grandchild, Haisley Bartis.

He was in the first graduating class of Whitehall Yearling High School in 1958. He served in the Army right after graduating. Richard retired from IATSE Local 12 after 57 years working at Schell Scenic Studios in his younger years then Stage Manager at Veterans Memorial and Business Agent for the Local 12.
He enjoyed camping, going to the beach, visiting Port Clinton and Marietta and shopping for antiques. He was a loving husband who enjoyed his adventures with Beverly. Richard always had a smile on his face and was ready to tell a joke. He loved playing tricks on his kids and grandkids. It was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a wonderful provider and a hardworking man.

The family will forever be grateful for the care and compassion that Kobacker House showed Richard and them in this difficult time. The family could not be prouder to call Richard their husband, father and grandfather or friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Service will be held April 10, 2024, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 with luncheon to follow. Day Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of Richard Tisdale.
