Danny Minkos - Class Of 1977

Danny L. Minkos, 56, of North Swanzey and formerly of Arizona, died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene. He passed with the love of his life, Lisa, by his side after a period of declining health.

He was born July 14, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Vivian D. (Keyse) and Leo W. Minkos. He was educated and graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School, class of 1977, and immediately entered the United States Air Force after graduation.

He was a supply and logistics specialist stationed all over the world. He retired with an honorable discharge at the rank of master sergeant E-7 in 2000 after serving 23 years in the military.

On May 1, 1985, he exchanged vows with Lisa M. Dicey. They were married in a garden in California. They had been married for almost 31 years.

Mr. Minkos enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and watching sports, but mostly he loved watching and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed his occasional trips to the casino and any beach in America. It was common to see him relaxing reading a good book. He was also a lover of animals. He could be found walking and playing with his dogs Misty and Buddy.

Mr. Minkos is survived by his wife, Lisa M. Minkos of North Swanzey; his siblings, Tammy Worden of Columbus, Tracy Searles and her husband, Ivan, of Mississippi, and Terry Johnson and her husband, Tony, of Florida. He is also survived by his in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
