John “Johnny” Hartmann, age 75, passed away on Monday, June 24th, 2024. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on August 3rd, 1948 to Thomas and Helen (Ford) Hartmann. Most mornings, John could be found sitting in his garage with his daily cup of coffee and most afternoons he could be found at Larry B’s Sports Lounge doing his Scratch Offs or hanging out with his buddies. He cherished his time at Larry B’s so much that he purchased the Lounge and made it his own.
John was an amazing father, partner, brother, uncle, and friend, but most of all he was a proud Marine and served our country faithfully. One of John’s happiest moments was going on the Honor Flight. He was a well-respected man and loved by all who got the chance to meet him.
John is survived by his loving partner of many years, Janet Mercurio; his daughter, Erin (Michael) Owens, Janet’s daughter Tina Di Censo, Grand-daughter Abbi Di Censo; his siblings, Helen (Dale), Tom (Rosa), Catherine (Stan), Clara (Pat), Mary (Chip), and Joe; Janet’s sister and brother-in-law Nancy Irwin and Craig Longstreth, and 22 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a Prayer Service beginning at 1:00 pm. Fr. William Arnold, celebrant.
