Teri Hiatt (Devlin) - Class Of 1966

Teresa “Teri” Devlin, 76, of Westerville, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Teri was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a brilliant mind, a beautiful and loving heart, and a gentle soul.

Teri was born on September 24, 1948, to the late Linn and Lois Hiatt in Chicago, Illinois. She was a 1966 graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School and Otterbein College. Following college graduation, Teri moved to New York City to pursue theatre, where she met the love of her life, Jon Devlin. Teri and Jon had many wonderful years there, which they shared with Teri’s siblings and other close friends. Teri and Jon relocated to Columbus, OH, to be closer to family, especially her niece and nephews. Saturdays with Aunt Teri were a weekly tradition for many years, and countless hours were spent exploring new and exciting places.

Teri loved nature, books, writing, the arts, and attending theatre and dance performances at Otterbein University. She was also an animal lover, and her canine companions, Bo and Bip, were never far from her side. She returned to her alma mater and served as the Visual and Performing Arts Admission Counselor at Otterbein University. In this role, she helped countless students on their journey to her cherished “Quiet Peaceful Village.” Otterbein and the Westerville community were mainstays throughout her life.

Teri is survived by her brother, Robert (Lisa) Hiatt, WYHS 1965; sisters, Patricia Hiatt, WYHS 1967, (Stephen Monroe), Stella Hiatt WYHS 1975, (Kevin) Kane, Martha Hiatt, WYHS 1977, (Hans Walters); niece, Eryn Kane; and nephews, Zach Monroe and Josh (Jamie) Meek. Teri was preceded in death by her parents, Linn and Lois Hiatt, and husband, Jon Devlin.
