***************

Steckman Katherine Steckman, 57 originally from Logan, Ohio, lost a courageous battle with cancer at home with her loved ones on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Her will and her spirit will be forever missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Anne Leach; her husband, Wade of 32 years; her children, Anthony (Amy), Andrew (Carol) and April (John); and her brother, Mark (Tina). She also had many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved with all her heart. Her family was the greatest joy of her life and letting them know she loved them in all the little ways that matter was her way of expressing that joy. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, reading and scrapbooking, and walks in the evening with her dear friend Pat. In her youth, she was a member of Jobs Daughters and DeMolay where she was the district sweetheart in 1972. She was a long time member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Bexley. She was a long time supporter and participant in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Her thirst for knowledge was cut short while pursuing an Associate's degree in Business Administration through Virginia College. Please join us in a celebration of her life on Tuesday evening, from 5-8 p.m. at WOODYARD MYERS FUNERAL HOME in Groveport where service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Lithopolis Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or The Red Cross, where she donated blood every chance that she had.
