Daniel Wiley Obituary

Ironton - Daniel H. "Skip" Wiley, 79, of Ironton, Ohio, previously of Columbus, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Legacy Riverview in South Point, Ohio. Skip is preceded in death by his parents George D. and Elizabeth J. Wiley, his daughter Julie Ann McGreevy.

Skip is survived by his loving partner of 61 years, Sally L. "Nance"; nephew, W. Gregory (Kathy) Barnetson of Americus, Georgia; grandson, Tyler (Kelsey) Derflinger of Columbus, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Skylar Ann Derflinger; step great-grandson Braylon Rogers; Sister, Beth Ann Barnetson of Hudson, Florida; Niece, Suzanne R. (Michael) Kiggin of Powell, Ohio.

Skip attended Whitehall High School and The Ohio State University where he was an avid Buckeye fan not missing a home game in over five decades. Skip also honorably served in the United States Navy before beginning a banking career of over forty-four years which included development of the Ohio River Bank, retiring as a Member of the Board of Directors, President and CEO in December of 2008. Skip was a past President of the Ironton Lawrence County Boy's and Girl's Club, a member of the Board of Directors at the Ironton Credit Bureau and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0325, Ironton Elks No. 177, Southgate Masonic Lodge No. 0782 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 S. 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation for family and friends are 11 am until the time of service. www.phillipsfuneralhome.net
