Bill Honeycutt - Class Of 1970

Bill sadly passed away on April 15, 2019...

A funeral service celebrating the life of William Charles “Bill” Honeycutt, Jr., age 66, of Heath, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Bishop Anthony Greiner officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Bill was born June 23, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William, Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Carl) Honeycutt. He passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy and faithfully served his country in Vietnam. He was an ordained Orthodox Catholic Priest and served at Good Shepard Orthodox Catholic Church in Zanesville for seven years, where he was known as Father Gabriel in the church community. Bill had also been an auxiliary police officer for many years. He enjoyed building model airplanes, working on cars, fishing and also enjoyed his horse. He was very much a family man and his family meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 38 years, Terri Lynn (Tufts) Honeycutt, whom he married May 23, 1981; daughters, Rebecca Peek of New Port Richey, Florida, Stephanie (Jason) Null of Heath, Jennifer Honeycutt (Luke McCoy) of Coshocton and Carissa (Tim) Johnson of Newark; grandchildren, George, Anthony, Dylan, Kylee, Brooke, Adrea, Bryan, Ceaira, Nevaeh and Ethan; great-granddaughter, Kyra; brothers, Ron (Laura) Honeycutt of Pickerington, Jerry Honeycutt and Michael Honeycutt; two nieces and two nephews; mother-in-law, Linda Tufts; uncle, Richard Rothe; and many friends and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Honeycutt and Christopher “Monkey Boy” Honeycutt; and son-in-law, Jason Peek.
