Kay A. (Pickworth) Lawson, age 77, of Powell, Ohio passed away October 9, 2023 at the Columbus Victoria Village following an extended illness.

She was born on June 11, 1946 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Charles and Norma (Buckingham) Pickworth. Throughout her years in the workforce, she was employed by Penny’s Distribution and later worked in healthcare for Careworks in case management. Over the years she made it a point to stay in touch with her Whitehall classmates.

Kay was a very giving person and always thought of family first. She considered her nephews “her boys” and her dogs were her children. She was stubborn in the best way and always stood her ground. Her last request before passing was a diet Pepsi and Jesus.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Larry Pickworth of Columbus, Ohio and Jim Pickworth of Sunbury, Ohio.

Left to cherish her memory are her nephews Brent Pickworth of Columbus, Ohio, Brad (Dana) Pickworth of Ashley, Ohio, Guy (Cheryl) Pickworth of Livonia, Michigan, Bryan (Debbie) Pickworth of Garden City, Michigan; Sister-in-law Carol Pickworth of Sunbury, Ohio; Nine great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life in Kay’s name will be held at a later date.
