Jason Snider - Class Of 1996

Jason David Snider obituary, Canal Winchester, OH
Jason David Snider, 49, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 18. He was born on January 17, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio, to Cindy and David Snider. Jason grew up in Whitehall and graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1996. He went on to earn his degree in Sports Management from The Ohio State University in 2000. After graduation, he continued to expand his skills at the Electrical Trade Center, becoming a journeyman wireman—a path that led him into a successful career as an electrician.

Jason continued his professional journey with Hood Patterson & Dewar, serving as a QA/QC & Commissioning Associate. He was most recently assigned to the NBY jobsite, where he worked closely alongside colleagues from Holder and SMC as the Quality Site Lead. Before joining HP&D, Jason built a strong foundation in his career as a union electrician with IBEW Local 683. Coworkers remember him for his unwavering positivity and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. His kindness, work ethic, and warm spirit left a lasting impact on those who worked with him.

Outside of work, Jason loved traveling, golfing, reading and spending time outdoors—he was always ready for a new adventure. He had a deep passion for sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. While attending The Ohio State University, Jason served as a student coach for the OSU football team. Jason enjoyed coaching multiple sports and took great pride in shaping the lives of the athletes he worked with. He was a dedicated mentor and a positive role model to many. For the past 2 years he served proudly as a Redcoat for Ohio State University.

He was an active member of X Church, where he led several men’s groups. Above all, Jason was a devoted follower of Christ, living a life rooted in faith and dedicated to God.

Jason was a man who was proud of all he accomplished, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family. His greatest joy came from being a husband to Michelle, a father to his kids, and from pouring his heart into the people he cherished most. Whether he was supporting his kids, sharing quiet moments at home, or laughing with the friends and family who meant everything to him, Jason gave his whole heart. He loved his people fiercely, and they were the center of his world.

Those who will forever carry Jason’s memory in their hearts include his loving wife, Michelle Snider; parents, David and Cindy Snider; sister, Christa (Walter) Mason; (WYHS 1997) children, Graham and Lauren Snider; and stepchildren, Reece, Allena, Marissa, Reide, and Quinn Klamorick. He is also remembered with love by in‑laws Ralph and Lois Shelton; grandmother, Joan Petty; aunts, Wanda Petty, Cheryl (Jim) Ullom, Kelly Poiani, and Debbie Snider; uncle, Mike Snider; and sisters‑in‑law, Kimmie (Doug) Williams and Valerie (Brian) Wires, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who held a special place in his life.
